Students will write opinion essays on how to address the problems they are facing on their farm, citing textual evidence from their research to support their thesis statements, opinions, and claims. At the end of the week students will present their proposed solutions to the class.
Days 1-5: Writing an Evidence-Based Opinion Essay
Each student will independently write an evidence-based opinion essay, making multiple revisions to produce high-quality writing. They will have opportunities to partner with other students for peer-review, giving and receiving clear and supportive feedback based on a provided grading rubric.
